Unit 7 - TS4991

Christine Pena
Implementation of a Network Plan for Miami-Dade College
Unit 7: 02/11/05 to 02/17/05

Task 1: Meet with staff, and begin to develop drafts that will detail each section and produce a draft report.

Task 2: Send via e-mail a reminder for the next meeting with date, time and location.

Major accomplishments:

1) We met with staff, and began to develop drafts that will detail each section and produce a draft report.[Completed]

2) I have sent to all staff involved in this big infrastructure an e-mail reminding everyone of the next meeting.[Complete]

3) We finalized the development drafts for presentation, and later I have distributed these in each mailbox of the college administration.[Complete]

4) I felt that we have reviewed this big plan several times, and I am confident that we have developed a set of plans that are highly reliable.[Complete]

All tasks have been completed successfully.

I have met with Dr. Robinson and some staff members and reviewed the develop draft. Dr. Robinson has suggested that the plan must be sent for review by the administration. Also, he has recommended to be sure that ample time is allowed for this on the agenda. I have mentioned to him that I will send it to all administrative members prior to that date so that they would have ample time to review the plan, and the technology committee was not on the calendar to meet and that I would send a draft of the plan to all members. He suggested that I just keep it the way it is.

[Answer all questions below.]

1) What helpful feedback did you get in the class (instructor, classmates) and outside the class (user, stakeholder, beneficiary, mentor, expert advisor, others)? What did you learn from this feedback?

Very good feedback from all members, and I think that the plan looked very good. The committee members seemed pleased that we were nearing the end of the project. I think that it has been an intensive project and in reality we have worked together on developing this plan, I think that we were involved in many other duties.

2) What resources did you use this week (e.g., people, money, equipment, systems, or software)? Did you add new resources? What was your learning?

Internet, MS Word, E-mail system, Dr Robinson and all committee members, conference room, and the administrative secretary.

3) What research did you perform this week that was assisting and/or literature based? What is your findings/learning?

I reviewed all of my resources listed in my IAL project plan. I was seeing and enjoying how we progressed and how our project should be influenced so far. Everything went fairly well. I was a little surprised by needing to have all the copies in the administrative mailboxes so soon. I was thinking we would have one more week, but I guess that the sooner they review it, the sooner we will have feedback. That is a good thing.

4) What did you learn this week in general in producing your project?

The team members were extremely valuable to me and gave me more motivation toward completing the tedious tasks of organizing meetings and communication with the college administration.

[Answer all questions below.]

1) What went well this week? What didn't?

Despite the hard work involved this week everything ended up going very well.

2) How well did you stick to your project schedule?

I thought this week was going to start a slide, but in the end everything went on schedule for which I was very grateful to the support and efforts of many members of the team.

3) How prepared are you to conclude your project in Unit 10 as required in this course?

I am certainly able to conclude the project in Unit 10 as required in this course, and very well prepared thanks to the many people who have contributed to this project.

4) How likely is it that you will need to resort to your contingency plan?

I expect that I will not have to resort to my contingency plan.
